In my classroom, my students are already using standard 1.b. and are creating their own original works, both on the computer and off. I currently use a lot of communication and collaboration that would fall under technology, but I would like to use more. Our district has been switching to google docs, but I have not fully switched over to using google docs for all of my files. It would be helpful because then I could access them from home and share with colleagues. We have also done this in class and it proves to be a valuable tool.
In general I think a lot of the technology standards are way above the level of my students. I would love to see my students gain the basics in computer skills and be able to be on their way to reaching these standards in the upper grades.
M. Griffin My classes are self-contained with varying disabilities. We use the computers for research on a class project, but without having them cite their references(yikes!). We use Google images for those same projects. One student was very good at using power point and put together presentations. Going forward, I'd like to use more interactive games/learning that the kids can access from home.I'd also like to be able to use Google Docs within the classroom.
